State Preschool Programs

High-quality preschool programs are the key for children to develop better emotional, intellectual, and social skills that benefit them throughout their school years and for the rest of their lives. Over 95% of 4 year olds that attend PVUSD state preschool enter ready for Kindergarten.

We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of children, and we believe that early support systems and education are fundamental to lifelong success. 99% of parents report that they happy with how the program promotes their child's learning and development.

Eight of the state preschool programs are part-day, three hour comprehensive child developmental programs for children one or two years before kindergarten. The programs emphasize family literacy and parent education. Two state preschool centers offer full day services for working families. State Preschool services are also available in family childcare homes.
